... hour, but ended up being 3!! And we didnt get lost that time! On the way we saw loads of dolphins in the sea. There must have been arpund 20 of them. It was so amazing to see, they were jumping all over the place! In the evening we met up with the girls from our room and went for a few drinks and then onto a club.
After getting lost today, we went to the harbour bridge to do the bridge climb over the top of the bridge! It ...
... but we were most impressed by the Blue Mountains and wished for more time to explore. A 2 1/2 hour ferry + train ride and we left the hustle and bustle of the city behind for what is known as the "Grand Canyon" of Australia, the Blue Mountains National Park. The canyon is older than the Grand Canyon and is brimming with a temperate rain forest so thick that at the bottom of the canyon you barely glimpse the cliff walls towering above you. The park and canyon ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia abcanares... Barcelona and Derby. In Australia, which is Europes equivalent in size, you would miss out on a rock. Ayers rock is the bullseye of the desert, the only place i regret not visiting. However i have stolen a leaflet from my hostel and plan to do some photoshopping when i get home so no one will ever know.
The diversity in lifestyles and environment is astonoshing for one country. Australia is completely self sufficient and thus less affected by the ...
... they just play around them and continue on, its freaking nuts! No pads and there are bigger hits than your average game of football which is just insane! So we watched UNSW tear up this team and ended up doubling their score by the end of the game with 86-43! So freaking cool and crazy! Well Saturday night, i felt like a loser, but i stayed in again b/c i knew we were waking up the next day to go on a big hike, but i watched another movie and then played Diablo II on ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia tqhallDo not ever try to get a taxi between 2am and 4am in Sydney. We walked from Darling harbour (about 5 minutes the other side of the harbour) all the way up past William Street trying to get a taxi, yes it made the fare cheaper by the time we reached the flat but don't get a taxi during these hours, you have been warned.
So after getting back around 3:30am, we get up and go to the market down in Sydney which was funny with all the stalls ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia freshie... I slept and then wandered around a deserted and closed shop Sydney. Nothing, I mean nothing was open on Good Friday in Australia, except for specifically tourist shops (Get your genuine souvenirs here, type affairs) and bars and pubs. The whole CBD was like a ghost town and apart from a few bemused tourists and tumbleweed; dead. So Brad was stuffed again, hoisted onto my back and taken to yet another airport as I headed north (in an attempt to ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia hess... don't worry Mom we made it out alive). We checked into a cool hostel called the Funk House a few hours after arriving in Australia's largest city, Sydney with a population just over 4 million. It was in an area known as Kings Cross and is the backpacker heaven for nightlife. The next day we made it to Bondi Beach (beach closest to downtown) and did an incredible 45-minute ocean to Coogy beach walk. After spending 4 days dehydrating at ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia spelkebroz... we’re told that that was the whole idea. Of course, the way they explain the theory, it’s meant to be artistic or innovative or something. Anyhoo. The concert hall made up for it all anyway. It was magnificent and luxurious as a great concert hall should be, but of course we weren’t allowed to take pictures.
Outside the Opera House on the lower causeway was a fantastic display of red megaphones ...
... and a boat tour round the harbour. Sometimes you just have to do the tourist thing. That also goes for China Town where we had a wonderfu Peking Duck and Bellend & my OH were introduced to Victoria Bitter - "VB". Imagine two half-cut blokes saying "Twho Veh Behs" in the style of "Ah so, Glasshopper" every 10 seconds, and you get a picture of the walk back to the hotel... Things went well, initally, as the ...
