We cruised from Cologne through the night and arrived in Amsterdam around midday. The canal widened out and we encountered lots of barges carrying all sorts of loads...from oil, gas & chemicals to blue metal and shipping containers...the barges all have living quarters on board and most carry two small cars on top, with a small hoist to get it on & off the barge.
