    We are just beginning to pack and prepare for the trip. We've been talking about it for so long, and now it's just days away. I can't believe it is finally here! We have lots to get ready, but soon we'll be on our way, with literally nothing more than the clothes on our backs. The thought is so freeing.

    We left the house this morning and went 3 miles and pulled over to fix the bicycle cover. Stopped at a rest area on I 75 and fixed the front wheel well cover, the bolts sheared and I put new bolts in to repair. Stopped for lunch and then finished the day at the welcome center in Alabama. The brake buddy for the car braking system burned up, so that's capute. On to New Orleans tomorrow. First day out so far so ...

    If someone is in need, Leon is the first to step up to lend a hand. I mentioned his work area in a previous post and I included a picture today. His so called "Hacienda Home Depot" cache of supplies is there for the benefit of anyone who can use it. He doesn’t like to waste anything and can find uses for just about any bit or piece of material. Waste not, want not, right?

    ... and dim sum for breakfast. The salad just arrived. It had a shrimp, a piece of crab, a scallop, mango and some greens. Next came soup. We had our choice of creamy or chicken broth. My chicken appeared to have a green tinge so I passed on eating the soup. David said the creamy soup was okay. The main course, the lobster, was pretty good. It was served with white rice, bok choy and carrots. All in all, a most impressive dinner for airplane food. For dessert ...
