    ... were spared and the Jewish cemetery, now the only one ( I think) in Europe which goes back several centuries, is also preserved. One of the synagogues contains the names of all the Czech Jews who perished during the holocaust. The names are in small lettering and cover several walls within the synagogue, from floor to ceiling.     ... us about 4 hours. Once in Prague we went for a walk around the small narrow streets taking in the markets and beautiful buildings (photos). We intend to do more of the same tomorrow. We finished off the night with a nice dinner of steak and veggies. We were thinking of sitting outside the restaurant as they had heaters but we were told it would cost 50% more, so we ate inside!!     ... what was wrong - the Czech Republic hasn't/hadn't allowed GPS mapping of the state, and therefore we couldn't get a fix! I managed to get one of them to accept an address of sorts, and off we went. We rattled across the CR, literally, as we bounced along the worst, roughest, 4lane concrete motorway I've ever been on! It was atrocious! At least they seem to have acknowledged this as there were road-works for km after km. But, as we came upon yet another set ...

    ... br> We shared an entree of hermelin cheese stuffed w cranberries and shallot dressing and a main of Chicken stuffed with goats cheese and scalloped potatoes. Yum
    For pudding we tried some of the Czech specialty Dumplings. Ours were stuffed with apricots.
    They were not that appealing - a bit dry and needed sweetening.
