... It was my friend and I and a college student from the Netherlands in the lesson so it was the right size class to learn.

We spent about 15 minutes on the beach discussing the basics and then is was off into the water for the rest of the lesson which lasted well over an hour. I now have a deep appreciation for why surfers are so fit. Standing in the waves is one thing but then having to hold ...

... All packed up we leave by 8.15 on our way to the Gold Coast my turn to drive as it’s country, not insane inner Sydney traffic. Quick loo stop at a delightful rest bay with possibly the smelliest drop toilets we’ve encountered (even counting up the centre of Aus) and we’re off again with Bill at the helm, in need of a coffee hit we do a quick stop at Macca’s Grafton leaving Bill to fix the van mirrors which up until this ...

... and conveniently passed a supermarket were we stopped to pick up a few lunch items.

We carried on and soon began to climb up steep and winding roads into the mountains. We arrived at our first port of call in what is referred to as the 'scenic rim', which was a small town called Tamborine. The scenic rim is a semi-circle chain of mountains that wrap around the valleys between Brisbane and Tamborine Mountain and is home to world heritage-listed rainforest and ...

We said our eagerly awaited goodbye to Melba's by leaving a note. It was well written and we felt pretty good about it. Thank god we don't have to deal with the rude chef and precarious girls anymore. Freeeedom. But we were very thankful for the opportunity that they have us. Without them we'd be planting trees and scared for our lives up in no service Tamborine Mountain with two men. Praise The Lord. We packed up all of our stuff this morning and are ready to roll on out to ...
