    ... to then take you to Yulara which is the only resort near to the rock. The resort has many hotels but we had opted for a real experience and stayed at the campground. So once we arrived we checked in to our cabin (not tent) which was a lot better than we were all expecting and it had Air Conditioning which we couldn't have survived without.     Somehow my knee thought I was ignoring it, because it took the time to let me know it was attached to my leg and I walked the last 2km swinging it. I have never been so happy to see a car park and I will never curse again at mobile transportation !     ... to stay with people you know so that you can split meals together. As silly as it sounds, you can have a proper meal for about $5 each when you are cooking together, or have a pathetic combination of bread and whatever is on sale (tuna, Nutella, discounted ham(?!)). Obviously the shared meal is the more coveted backpacker option. I was sad that they were leaving for Sydney while I fly out of Gold Coast, and after they left I still had another ...
