We are now back at our recently acquired home in Eastbourne, close to our latest grandson and family. The Canaries trip proved a good test for further trips but I'm told the need for realism in planning a more appealing and adventurist journey is needed; such realism restricts my instincts.As you all know dreams can come true and occasionally do.

Fun fact about the Spanish Canary Islands. They are closer to Africa than they are to Spain. One of the Islands is also the birth place of that language composed seulement of whistling! Very Very cool!

Our next shore stop was Santa Cruz, Tenerife, Canary Islands.
This is a major big city. While the island of Lanzarote is around 140,000, Santa Cruz on the island of Tenerife is over 200,000 people alone. Again, the modern city structures are unbelievable since all of the products to build had to be shipped in. ... track of all the nautical miles we’ve done and we needed 2,634 to make our grand total reach an impressive 100,000. How many had we done? Unbelievably, we’d sailed a total of 2,624. I could not believe it… we were only 10 miles short. 10 miles!! So we’ve done a total of 99,990 nautical miles and will have to wait until our next cruise to reach our milestone. :-(
