7. Some albino peacocks
Then we went to the old fort, Castillo de San Marcos. This was built in 1695 to protect the town from pirate and other attacks. It was never captured by force. It was star shaped with walls constructed of limestone shell that wouldn't crack. And the walls were over 5m thick on the outside. It had a gun deck lined with canons and sentry posts and a mote.
... drove to the fort. It was a big building made out of stone. We went on top and it was a beautiful view but we got sent down because there was thunder and lightening. Then we walked and had a drink.
PS The fort was called Castillo de San Marcos and it's over 300 years ...
... br> We saw lions, tigers, leopards, lynx, wolves, hyenas, bobcats and a porcupine. One jaguar had had a good life with his owner and got left there while his owner went on holiday but he never came back so the jaguar suffers from depression. There were more stories like this. All these animals could be walked on a leash.

Then we went to the St Augustine Wildlife Reserve. It looks after big cats and lions. A lady bought a lynx for a pet but it was too rough and so she kept it in her garage and just threw it some food now and again. So they rescued it and care for it now. We also saw lions, wolves, tigers, black jaguars, white Bengal tigers, a cheetah, some leopards, bobcats and porcupines.
Working our buttocks off getting ready to get on the road to Warne, NC. Activiities will include the graduation of our bouncing baby boy (grandson) from Lee University (pictures will follow). On to brother John's birthday celebration in Oak Island, NC then shoot up to Durham for a sisterly hug, another visit with friends in Mineral, VA, high school (Quinn) graduation in Palmyra, VA, then to Winchester, VA for a 3 ...
