... them. The girl was distraught, and crying and everything, and Mother Nature got upset too. She lobbed a few rocks around and managed to kill the girl, while also creating the pools. Now and then, when a man is in the area, the spirit girl sobs and calls out, luring a bloke into the water, hoping it's her lover. Or something like that. As a result of all the deaths there are A LOT of warning signs and barriers around parts of the area. It's another thing that reminds us we aren't in ...

We left South Mission Beach and headed south towards Townsville, stopping at Ingham at the markets on the way down, past a couple more sugar mills and then climbed the hills up and over to Townsville.

... with huge palms so relaxing and no kids around! Then the reality hits of how incredible our site is opposite the beach. The tide is way out but is great to walk along. The view down to Townsville and the islands as a backdrop, the palms and the peace. It must be relatively new and still a secret. But word of mouth between the nomads and Townsville people will not take long. What a gem. We bought fresh green banana ...

... as does the sunset. I cooked my very first handmade loaf of white crusty bread while we were here and it is yummy so I will be making more of that.

Our next stop was Mt Isa for fuel and some grocery shopping. The Isa is a difficult place to park a caravan close to shopping and this is something I believe the council has recently addressed to their credit. We had some lunch and filled the fridge and the pantry and headed off for another free ...
