However, some areas appear barren due to the rocky terrain, and the acres of chicken wire covering some of the steeper areas to prevent boulders falling on those below, does little to enhance the visual appeal or to alleviate this rough, harsh effect. Although, bright and lush flowers poked their blossoms defiantly out from the chicken wire, determined in their optimism.

... were just terrible. I had horrible muscle cramping pain and shaking. We continued on to try to make it to the first stop but I got slower and slower. Finally Martinna arrived with the van and I was done after 14 miles. I shuttled to the first rest stop where I drank some 7up.
