... 160;Visited one in Strasburg then went north thru the back roads to Paradise and hit some more.  We needed lettuce for salads so we decided to head home.  Reminder....do not look for an open store on Sundays in the small towns in this area since there aren't ANY (grocery and hardware anyway).  We even went down the road to a large one we had been to on Saturday and that was closed so no salads tonight.  Since it was Sunday more of the Amish were ...

Not wanting to be in a hurry today we took it easy this morning. We headed out of Philadelphia around 10 and decided we had time to drive through Lancaster to see some of the Amish farms. ... lovely little restaurant on our way back.  We both had Pumpkin Soup with Thai Basil and then shared a Chicken Mediterranean Salad and a glass of wine. Fabulous meal, fabulous service. Just what we needed as we hadn't eaten very well all day. What a huge day we had had!!! Travelling through Amish country, Amtrak train from Lancaster to New York, checking into the apartment, walking 11kms and finally back to the apartment by 11pm....    ...
