As everyone knows, no airport travel is complete with out its hiccups. There was a traffic accident on the H1 freeway in Oahu headed to the airport. So I jumped on my iPhone before my plan was suspended for travel and found a couple alternate routes through neighborhoods, and got there in time to return the rental car and be on my way. Flight number one headed from Oahu to Tokyo for a total of 8 hours. Aloha and A hui hou kakou or Goodbye and Until We meet again! ...

... beard (not too long yet luckily) looks suspicious. His bag is the one with the cage on too so it took extra long taking the cage off and on. We were finally through security and waiting for the plane to Kauai. At least we knew we were going to be staying in absolute luxury for a week because of the wedding. We had some minstrels and an apple to distress from the annoying airport situation and I was calm and ready to fly!

... up to the surface but when I did resurface. I panicked. I shouted over to make sure Dais was OK and she said to let everything go. I saw the next wave coming and I was desperately trying to untangle the coil attached to my ankle and the board. I must have ripped it off in the nick of time - once again we were flung like rubbish against the jagged rocks. It was horrendous. I eventually got my balance and stood up on some coral and reassured Dais it was fine, we were fine. ...

... by a restaurant called Cheeseburgers and funnily enough it was a burger place. We forgot how accessible things were in the US and how reasonable food was. So we were pleased. However everything is supersized. We ordered sandwiches for lunch I had a fresh seared tuna one which was so yummy and we shared some sweet potato fries. After lunch we went to look in all the tacky tourist shops - there were a lot of them and brought ourselves ...

... green lockers that act as a closet, a desk and chair, small shelf, small TV and DVD player, small fridge, a few hooks on the wall, a skinny shoe organizer, and the tiniest bathroom and shower you can imagine. But hey, we managed to unpack all our things and still have floor room.
After all that John and I got on land in Honolulu and headed straight to the beach. We waited awhile for a city bus to come and it took like 40 minutes to get to Waikiki Beach! Much longer than ...
