... We grabbed a bus to the CBD wandered a variety of stores and waded in the Cairns lagoons, enjoyed a massage for $15 there are lots these Chinese massage spots basically street side and then walked the boardwalk back to the hotel and finally cooling off with a swim. I am loving these salt water pools. Dinner at the Cock and Bull, local gaming, eating and drinking establishment. Excellent meal. ... and shoes! A very odd feeling but the best way to keep clothes warm and dry for when we piled back in and onto the next site.

Unsurprisingly for the English (although much to the shock of the Americans and Aussies) we had never swum in a lake before! It eventually gave me the fin and darted off, escaping the reef creep. Oh well, I got some good photos out of it! Aside from the blue fish, I saw many a Dory (regal blue tang) as well as other colourful fish and coral. It was quite simply STUNNING. I'm not a huge fan of snorkelling due to all the faffing ...

Woke up at 7:30, got ready then went and raided the kitchen for bread. Made extra sandwiches of peanut butter and jam, separately. Waked over to the ferry terminal, it was a lot busier than we expected. Got out tickets then went and got on the boat, managed to get upstairs even though we it was packed.

The journey to the island took about 50 minutes, saw a few different island, but wasn't a super interesting trip, best thing we sat was ...
