... observance following on from that, was that we saw very few, if any, obese folk in Amsterdam. Parallel parking takes on another meaning in Amsterdam, bikes several deep attached to railings by chains. Lo and behold if yours is the one closest to the fence!!!

The myriad of signs advertising hash coffee shops, torture devices or sex devices and entertainment, left little to the imagination. Many young folk pass by ...

... road than cars and they think they own the place. We had already almost been hit by one just after we got out of the Taxi.

The Taxi driver had given us some tips on where to go so we headed for Leidsgracht area. The square was pumping, everyone was singing and dancing it was so cool. We started to head off down one of the side streets and Kate said "owww look a "coffee shop". We had heard stories that Amsterdam was not as liberal as it once had been. ...

... remember! Raised in Utah, livin' in Denver. Never seen this kind of **** before.

We wandered the neighborhood for the remainder of the evening. We had a drink at a pasta place and talked up the bar tender. Wandered more and when hungry ate some take away Turkish food amongst the bustle of late night Pijp.

Despite being pretty jet lagged, we managed to fall asleep at a somewhat reasonable time while a thunderstorm rolled by in the distance.
