To the Heineken Experience we go! Heineken originated in Amsterdam, and they've made a disneyesque type tour for tourists like us. Not a bad way to fill up your day, and fill up on booze.

... with some form of expediency. We had read before we came that wait staff in the Netherlands are paid reasonably well and tipping is not usual (you round up). What that appears to mean is that they don't try very hard to be attentive and responsive. Not saying they do a bad job but there certainly is a big difference to N.A. where a good chunk of your income is based on how well the guy with the credit card feels he was served!

We woke Dad a couple of hours later so we could take a canal boat tour. We walked down, bought our tickets, and enjoyed a one-hour cruise around the canals. It was a beautiful evening. The weather was perfect. We still had not eaten dinner, so after the cruise, we found a nice place along a canal to sit down and enjoy our last meal in Amsterdam. ... the day gets donated to a local charity to feed the hungry. Well, Tiff did not make the company proud when she accidentally dropped the food in her hand all over the floor, like a big yogurt bomb, while waiting in line to pay for her food. She felt bad for the waste, and for splattering yogurt and berries all over her neighbor in line, but accidents do happen!
