    ... of Belgium. We passed Fort Breendunk which is now a national memorial. It was a prisoner of war camp. Antwerp means at the wharf. It is a harbor town. Legend has the name meaning "throwing of the hand" after a battle with a giant and when he was killed, his hand was cutoff and thrown in harbor. During the War of 80 years, Antwerp was badly damaged. All shipping was halted and Antwerp was in serious economic decline. ...

    ... and all sorts if fresh produce. We then went for a drive to Leuven which is a university town. The original town was destroyed in the WW1 but most of the buildings were rebuilt in the early 1920's in the original style so it is very pretty.
