... TV celebrity, appeared to be more front-of-house than in the kitchen but nevertheless, he did present a wonderful 6 course menu as you will see by some of the photos.
We also attended the "Birds of Prey" show in which huge eagles, vultures and owls from the Pyrenees were allowed to fly free only to return to "swoop" near the visitors, where they were rewarded with food. Sadly they were chained to their perch the remainder of the time.

The walk wasn't too taxing. There was a small dolmen on top of the hill going towards Corneilla. The sky was black for much of the day and it was very humid but stayed dry. We wandered through the steep narrow streets of the old town of Vernet Les Bains before ascending the hill back to our valley.
It thundered a little just as we arrived back at the campsite but brightened up ...

When we finally got there, we could see people lining the main bridge across the river. Rob suddenly said -' Good God - there's a car in the river!!'

As we negotiated the one way system it became obvious there was some sort of Fair or procession going on, with bands and a group of men in long costumes with banners, followed by people on horseback.- and guess what ended up at the Tail End of the parade - a great big white motorhome!!
