In the afternoon we walked around past the fishing boats and the men were fixing the nets, cutting and mending, and getting the nets ready to drop for the next day.

Walked around the the foreshore for a few kilometres and saw a huge sailing ship which had come in. There are a lot of private yachts calling in each night and mooring. A friend of David's from NZ has just been sailing down the Dalmation coast.

... again, but because I thought we were coming back after breakfast I didn't take my bathers, so just had to sit in the sun!

We walked around the two small islands which are joined. Not a lot of people around - mainly just sitting around the huge pool at the resort!

Back to the nice cafe by the water, and then walked up to the church at the top of the old town.
David went off walking and swimming again and I did a loop of the old town around the water.

Had a beautiful fish platter for dinner. The restaurants are pretty quiet. It must be hard for the locals when the tourists leave.

It is such a beautiful little town. We feel we could stay here for a few ...

The fishing fleet came in this morning, followed by hundreds of gulls. We went down and the fishermen were unloading thousands of crates of sardines, packing them with ice, putting them into trucks and taking them away. They had a good production line going. The local ladies were turning up with plastic bags to buy some. There was a big storm last night so it ...

      Lovely Rovinj!

Our first day in Croatia. I visited Dubrovnik and Split briefly years ago when the country was called Yugoslavia. Now it is Croatia.

Our ferry took about four hours from Venice and was a very smooth trip.

Rovinj is a fishing village and a tourist spot which is very beautiful. It is not over run with tourists at the moment as it's near the end of the season. The cafés and restaurants are pretty empty which is great for us. Apparently ...
