The tour of the prison was really cool. It's smaller than you'd think, because it was a low-capacity prison for those who had, well, been too much trouble for other prisons. We took the audio tour that led us around the building with the help of a plastic recorder and some retro 90s headphones. The recordings were the voices of old guards and inmates from the prison. Breakfast at Denny's again - Trev decides on nachos - never seen them eaten with a knife and fork before lol ...... so the plan today was to go back and have a look round Carmel, a few miles south of Monterey - Trev took the wheel, and didn't take long to get there, but as we did, the fog came down. Decided to leave and head towards Santa Cruz, and as we left Carmel behind the fog vanished. I'm guessing it just want meant to be! Oh what a day ...

... by our host and what a great recommendation it was. Fabulous noodle soup and coconut chicken that lasted us a few meals so great value for money and not so much food to have to lug up the hill after all, just our hefty bodies! When we got back to the apartment we spent the evening watching The Fall as our host had kindly provided Netflix - just 2 seasons to catch up on over the next few days. Food and entertainment sorted - time to chill.
