    ... so that’s what we set off to find. The hike up this mountain was pretty exhausting. It was a steep incline the entire way, with the mid-day 96 degree sun profusely beating down on us. We were mostly surrounded by boulders on both sides of us, along with some shrubs and a few trees.     I woke up to a the sunlight in the window, it was a going to be a great day at 73 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius). This temperature was about average temperature for a late summer in California with the sun beaming down on my room I now knew why it was called "The Golden State".

    ... were directed to the gold elevator, an original feature of the hotel and adds to it's character. We checked in to our lovely room which had a large balcony overlooking the quiet courtyard area then went to investigate the hotel.
