... After looking around for a while we got an Uber to Ocean Beach. We were still hoping it would clear up but after spending a few hours on the beach we realized it wasn’t going to… The beach itself was quite nice but it reminded us a bit of the Gold Coast – a younger crowd and a bit tacky.

It was a bittersweet morning as we breakfasted with Laura and Patrick and then walked together to the Subway station on Markham St for the last time. Toronto had been like a tonic for us - family, fabulous food and fun in a safe and friendly environment. The whole missing luggage saga aside, we felt happy and rested but equally sad and emotional as we said goodbye and set out on our next adventure.

We drove around the dirt road to see where the canal ended and to see if we could find where it entered into the mountain.
