... before leaving. Dad Jesse & Hannah had a go on the Abbey Sea star ride where dad took control of the spinning of the cup and made himself feel sick. The girls then had a play on the rope climbing structure before we finally called it a day. by the time we made it home, the 4th of July  fireworks had started going off. We watched some fireworks from our patio area while we had a late tea. time for bed.  Tomorrow will be a rest ...

... 1936 California Pacific International Exposition was held here also. We walked into town from the ship's berth and then caught the bus out to the gardens with the locals and a few tourists! The park is beautiful! And very big-holding the San Diego Zoo,15 major museums, performing arts venues and, of course, gardens.John and Kay, we spotted asparagus fern in the Botanical Building! ... We leave the restaurant and begin to wander. San Diego has a very vital and active downtown. Little Italy, Gaslamp district, old town, lots to see and lots to do. We wander the Gaslamp district, checking out the stores and the restaurants. We wind up walking right into the stadium where the Padres play! It's open and you can walk right through. You can't go down on the field, but you can get pretty close!

Hi everyone,

So I am now half way through my one week stay in San Diego and thoroughly enjoying my time.

On Saturday evening Kate, her friend Jess and I drove down to Seaport village, a beautiful little tourist area by the water with plenty of little shops and attractions. We bought enough salt-water taffy to feed a small army (in flavours that included 'buttered popcorn' and 'molasses') and had a lovely dinner before attempting to find our way home ...

... still not finished a meal in this country) we wandered past a rock bar where a guy was playing an acoustic guitar which was lovely so we stopped for a drink. After the guy with the acoustic guitar finished he went of stage and came back with some friends all wearing wigs and playing 80s hair metal. It was excellent fun. The evening got pretty messy after that. We even met a Mormon guy who'd been on a real life mission to Africa! ...
