... 41km trip took about 1.5hrs! Of course the driver first took us to a travel agent so that she could try sell us trips and tours which we politely declined. He would obviously have gotten commission if we had bought something. We finally arrived at the hostel and checked in. We also managed to book our ferry to Koh Lanta on Saturday and they will pick us up here so we don't need to organize another taxi. Which is a good thing. We took our ...

... volleyball, or go snorkelling. You have to go to a hut to get snorkel gear and the equipment and go into the water. There are no jet-skis or other noisy marine leisure activities at Freedom Beach. I decided to go on the boat which is on Freedom Beach and it only went for 10 - 20 minutes but it was so nice with the little tour around the island. For the most part, small town life is everything I remember it to be from my childhood and my little village in Thailand remains eerily similar to my hometown in the Snowy Mountains (except literally four times hotter). This said, remoteness has its drawbacks. Last weekend, a combination of Thai time and ...

... we stayed in Karon beach and I can't imagine it was any less trashy than Patong... All the restaurants have menus in German, Russian and of course SWEDISH! We can buy våfflor, kanelbullar and pankakor to a cheaper price here than at home which feels a bit wierd. Luckly we only spent 3 nights here and tomorrow we're continuing to Phi Phi Island which hopefully we'll be a bit more what I imagine Thailand to be like! Anyways we did do some fun things during our time ...
