... and perhaps after 5 more weeks of this he'll either throw me out of Japan in disgust or I'll have actually improved.
3. I love people who laugh easily. It's why I love my husband and both of my families so much. Fortunately, there are a couple of people over here who easily find the joy in life. It's not hard to, I guess, when you get to spend time doing something ...
... s horrible. Think Maccona, Nescafe, Arriva. That's what I'm dealing with here people. Even coffee houses serve up the same filter-brewed mess. Nightmare on Cafe Street. You can ride the most efficient public transport system, buy the world's most advanced technology, **** in a loo that sings to you, but not buy a good cup of coffee. Anyway, never again.
After breakfast, I did a bit of shopping, had a wander ...
... I gave up & had my lunch by a fountain back in front of the Noh theatre.
Whilst eating and resting my very, very weary legs, I consolled myself with the good pictures of the castle I took from the pedestrian overpass. I've seen several castles now in Japan, so I doubt that this one would have been any different had I bothered to get closer.
Dinner last night was Kakiten soba - which is fried oysters on ...

We are learning about sea life in our class this month, so I thought it would be fun to look after some fish of our own. We started on Tuesday, and the eggs hatched instantly. We have about 5 little fish. On the next day I let the kids look at the fish, which I placed on the table. I left them for only 3 seconds and when I came back, the kids were gone, and ...
Nagoya, Japan vicki85... my itinerary, I chose a slightly later flight so that Suka doesn't have to beg out of work hours to pick me up. My original arrival time was supposed to be 1:40 a.m., definitely not the work day even in Saipan. To get me in as soon as possible would have involved Nagoya to Narita (Tokyo) to Guam to Saipan and would have put me down at 3 p.m. Suka was going to try to leave the car at the airport and leave the keys with the ...
Nagoya, Japan srvance... the front desk stood. We looked perplexed, so he ushered us over and asked in broken English what we wanted. After more looks of befuddlement, he explained that using the internet for an hour for a man would cost four hundred yen (just shy of four US dollars), while women could use the internet for about one dollar (albeit without men present). In pay-minimization mode, we both agreed that we didn't need two computers, that Cori could complete all of our tasks in ...
Nagoya, Japan stevecori... took us ages to explain why we needed the translation and then even longer to actually communicate the meaning of the sentence. She ended up feeling such responsibility for the translation that she basically wrote a novel to explain the details about the landscape, and the dog and the Samurai and how they met and why they are living together, etc. Thanks to her efforts we ended up winning the scavenger hunt, which was good for a free round of drinks and dessert. A few weeks ...
