I guess, bar a few exceptions, most travellers hit a low point. I hadn't expected it to be so soon after only a week but I did so in Pune.

I think I was coming to terms with some aspects of India and it's culture: the dirt and grime, human faeces on the rails, war zone appearance, scams and so on). The unconditional friendliness that I have experienced with hellos, and nods and smiles, photos taken of me with Indians has not been enough to reassure ...

... platform. Easy. This time, instead of traveling second class with no solid windows I opted for air conditioned chair and glass windows.; apparently very popular with back packers for the long haul. They are still relatively cheap at 450 rupees (4.50) with reclining chairs and cool air.

I'm in Pune and the train was a breeze. But as it turns out there is often something to whinge about and what a palaver it is! The Internet here is significantly better ...

... was driving, and using the the full power of the 3 litre engine so standing out of the sun roof was a ridiculous idea. I should also have been more careful considering an old school friend died when the car he was in rolled and he was out of the sunroof at the time. We did have a great blast, the highlight being when we passed a police car who gestured at us to get in, then Jinu put her foot down to get away from them weaving in and out the traffic. ... Hospet at around 10:15am. As we got down from the bus, we were surrounded by group of atorickshaw drivers requesting us to hire their vehicle. We obediently hired 2 autos and paid the amount asked to reach the hotel as we were tired and we were not in a mood to negotiate.
