... There was a mix of young Europeans in rented compact campers, tents, and the Grey nomad caravaners traveling with their pets. A few had their generators running from the back of their camper, powering microwaves and kettles. But some had extensive house furniture and white goods, giving the impression of long term dwelling, which was unusual for a rest spot.

Next morning headed for Gympie, a 5 minute drive, and were at the Tourist Info Centre 15 ...

... the movie!! Ouch! The movie was good though and it was nice to have a mindless activity for a couple hours. We then walked back to the hostel to head to bed.

We asked what we should do tomorrow and it was suggested to go on the coastal walk. It takes three hours or so but you get to see all the local beaches and it's free! So we are off on another nature walk tomorrow morning.

... I had an email from a friend last week giving me all her news, though apparently I hadn't asked for it! I love hearing about life back home and please do send me messages if you can. ... are boats and jet-skis zooming around the dam with picnickers watching on. The water at the dam is warmer than the creek is at the campsite which is very inviting; especially on a chilly day. If you ever get stuck on the dam – maybe the boat broke down and you had to paddle back in a few kilometres – someone will eventually help you. ... Thats where we discovered brandy hates it when we go swimming in the waves, so one of us has to stay with her at the waters edge while the other messes around getting pummelled by the water. Its a really nice beach actually and quite popular with surfers.
