Campfires, Goon, Pikeys, Spiders, Canoes and Goon

... On our last night it unfortunately rained which definitely put a dampener on the evening, especially when it came to sleeping in the tents which you spend two nights in. I mean the tents are by no means comfortable at all but when you’re sleeping next to a puddle of water it makes it 10 times worse! It beats been in an insect-ridden base camp dorm though!

After moaning about the conditions of the camp pretty much all the way through ...

... Very jolly by this point, and chatty, and increasing in volume!!) On arriving back at the house we Skyped home to speak to family which was great, and Daryl had lovely birthday wishes from everyone in the sunshine at home! Out came my camera to record this momentous occasion - Swen is also a keen photographer so ...

They got off about 90 minutes before me at Rainbow Beach. I slept most of the remainder of the way except for a quick stop off at Matilda. That's where the big kangaroo was - it was made for the Olympics held in Brisbane some years ago. I arrived in Noosa around 3pm and was picked up by a shuttle and taken to Nomads - ...

Settling in

A travel blog entry by fayerowe

... in my hair :), jumped off a 7 metre bridge and had fun on a rope swing. still plenty more to do: not been on a walk round the national park yet, to the sunshine beach, and at the everglades you can go kanooing which sounds quite fun. also lots of people hire a boat to cruise along the river for a day, so that may be on the cards at some point too. Oh, and there are signs everywhere warning you about kangaroos and koalas. Not ...
