... are wonderful.  Went on the Hop on hop off tour - great way to get around. Went to the Botanical Garden and went to the Glasgow Cathedral - build around the 1300’s and I was in awe of the beauty of the building.  They had a bridge of Sighs to a Graveyard with the best of views of Glasgow.  It covers 26 acres… so we only saw a minute amount of the Monuments. Later, found another bigger pub - Yates, and had a GREAT ...

... you can get a map from any garage. Later I race into the first one we find. "Yes, yes, yes" says the smiling, eager young man and hands me the map. " It is of Edinburgh - is that alright?" So it's 1 hour until we board our flight outta here and so far all I've done is cry, say goodbye and buy a bottle of strawberry ribena to cheer me up .. ... torrential rain the pageantry continued, the boys shivered on the dias, the bagpipes player, ball boys and girls also got drenched during the medal ceremony and the few of us crowd that were left got soaked through to the bones. Commonwealth Games opening Ceremony was incredible what a once in a lifetime experience.
