Mykonos, Greece
... would definitely love to come back and spend some time here. Perhaps one day we could stay here for a month or so in a self contained apartment, just out of peak season and experience living here and exploring the islands nearby… another one for the bucket list!! Our ship left Mykonos early in the afternoon and will now make its way to Istanbul, Turkey where we will arrive early tomorrow ...
The so-called party island
The stop in Mykonos was uneventful and pretty relaxing. OK meal in a local joint and the streets are famous for being a maze which has a sort of charm. We didn't have lovely weather but just a bit overcast and windy.
All in all, an OK place but we much preferred Santorini.

Athens & the Greek Islands
... and I spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach and enjoying the beautiful weather in Athens. We had an early start to get on our ferry to our first Greek Island, Mykonos. Our wake up call came at 5am, we all crawled out of bed off a few hours sleep and somehow made it onto the ferry in one piece. The ferry we were on was absolutely freezing, we all huddled up into little balls and tried to sleep it off until our arrival at Mykonos. Mykonos was windy! ...

I got us passes to one of the lounges at Gatwick, which was a bit dull but had breakfast and flew out on a less than glamorous, but half empty Easyjet flight and within a few hours we were sitting at a restaurant in the sun sipping cocktails.
The week went by quick and we met lots of interesting people. It was very much the end of the season so everything was getting fairly quiet in the evenings, but I can imagine ...
