I have lived in Colorado for 20 years and have never hiked the infamous Hanging Lake trail. Eric and I decided since we were out this way and we should go hike it. Hanging lake is just on the East side of Glenwood Springs about an hour from Grand Junction.

We headed out and landed in Steamboat Springs. Aspens and hillsides are so beautiful. Stopped at a ranger station looking for a campground with trees. They sent us to Bear Lake in the national forest. 9700 feet! and what an amazing experience.
