... most likely deviate from the planned route. However, much to my bitter disappointment we will not be diverting to Chattanooga to ride the incline. Oh well, a reason to comeback to Tennessee someday.
... stayed in Gatlinburg a couple of nights and we did a **** load of walking which we needed after all the meat we have been eating.
In true form Troy and I decided we'd pick a hike that was called 'Chimney top', only 4 miles long can't be that bad. Holy **** it was steep! When you get to the top you have to climb a massive boulder I got about a quarter of the way up the boulder and started to freak out it ...
... and it was all quite wonderful. When it was time to go to bed, I lay down, tired and relaxed, ready to drift into slumber… but the caffeine from my RC Cola kept me awake.
The next day we began the second half of our journey. A Walk in the Woods shuttled us up to Newfound Gap, where we bid goodbye to Jen and Carol, packed our new supplies, and started hiking the infamous Appalachian Trail. It seemed quite a bit more strenuous than the Benton McKaye trail had been, ...

Tonight we had the Sach's over to our campsite for some Spaghetti Bolognese (or however that is spelled) Chris showed off his caveman fire building skills and also managed to throw away the brand new unopened box of Graham Crackers and Marshmallows we had purchased that day. Thank you very much sir.
... compete for Britain if Mini Golf ever makes it into the Olympics. Me and Les had a team talk later that night, about how we are going to have to raise our game. I think we need to take them on at our sports. I will be suggesting a day at the bowling alley tomorrow with drinking games.
The end of the night the Sach's kindly treated us to a delicious home/camp cooked dinner consisting of yummy pork loin, gnocchi and veggies.
