... adjacent to the noisy, busy freeway, secured one night in a serviced pull through, turned on the air conditioners (it was warm), put on the Giants game and relaxed with some fresh caprese from our larder.

Perhaps we would have remained overnight up in the Berkshires had we found an open campsite. The Walmart in North Adams doesn't allow overnights so we moved on.

Long day but colors of fall were out in force. Now we are in Pennsylvania.

... watch this event which occurs twice each day. It was quite an amazing thing to watch. I'll bet it is even more spectacular when the spring runoff is at its highest.

After this event we had breakfast and drove towards Woodstock NB. We saw some nice fall colors but it was obvious that the best was over so we’ll keep our fingers crossed that Vermont is still in its prime.

... The road winds through forested hills and the Fall foliage was just beginning to show its mettle. There are scenic lookouts at various spots and we sampled the Hairpin Turn and climbed to Whitcomb Summit (in the car, I might add).
