... beer. The papas are boiled in very salty water with the skin and served like that, but its the mojo that is the important part of the meal. We then walked down the paseo by the sea for a while, on the left we had the buildings and moutains, and on the right we had the vast sea filled with ships, tankers, cargo ships and three oil drilling platforms under construction, so that scenery was not the best.
... about the apartment, he gave me a pair of keys and I gave him rent for this month. The way he smiled at me is what made me doubt this whole thing, it was as if he knew something I did not. Once in Las Palmas the taxi driver dropped me on the right street but the building number was nowhere to be found, and then he drove off. I walked back some 20-25 meters and found the correct building. The moment of truth was if either of the keys worked with the front door. If ...
... Vegueta. The architecture is Spanish and Canarian. Unfortunately, the Museum of the Canaries closed at 2 pm (on a Saturday!), but I did visit the Cathedral of Santa Ana and Columbus House Museum. Christopher Columbus stopped and stayed in the Canary Islands on each of his four expeditions, to provision his ships and prepare for his voyages of discovery of the New World (what he thought was India).
... man boom, clinks very loudly, pulleys rattle and you have a feeling that all is not well. However this is not the case and three days in, sailing could not be more straightforward, with very few sail changes needed and the wind almost always in the same direction. We run downwind most of the time, which rocks the boat the least and means that life on the floating raft is really quite comfortable. ...
... with a free shot of honey rum. And wow what a shot that was! Absolutely delicious. So smooth and no sting. We really wanted to get a bottle. After that it was lights out! The next morning was very cloudy and dull and we just chilled in the morning until Jody arrived!! We convinced her back in madrid to come join us and she did. After he arrived we headed to mojo surf to sign up for some surfing lessons. They weren't ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Morasol Suites Puerto Rico
My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week at the Morasol Suites in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria and I could not speak more highly of it.
My wife and i have just returned from a 10 day holiday in puerto rico, gran canaria. We stayed in the Morasol Suites, which we found to be excellent. The rooms were very spacious and exceptionaly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpfull.
Stayed at the Morasol for 1 week early Jan 2007. Holiday was booked at last minute, was looking to book Marina Suites but they were booked out. Location is very good in Puerto Rico overlooking the Marina and the Marina Suites are right next door !.The apts were lovely and clean , modern with a superb bedroom (large) great bathroom with powerful shower and balcony overlooking Marina. There is a fab sun terrace on 3rd floor with great views and a hot tub. We did not use the Pool area at all as we loved the terrace also we were on 2nd floor and very close to it. There were loads of very comfy sunbeds , so no rush with your towel in am !!!!!. The staff were very nice and helpful. There is a bar and resturant in the complex. We ate on New Years Eve in restaurant and it was very nice. The Complex has a minamilist / modern feel to it.. The down sides of our stay was the lack of any facilities on the Terrace No snack bar etc. I could not see snack bar anywhere near pool either ! the Complex was very quiet, it seemed everyone stayed in their apts so it lacked atmosphere around bar area. But then again I looked in to The Marina Suites and they were also very quiet in bar area. All in all we had a very quiet relaxing holiday which we enjoyed very much.
Just returned from a one week vacation in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria and we stayed at the Morasol Suites.
My partner and I have just returned from two weeks in Puerto Rico, staying in the Morasol Suites. When booking the holiday through the travel agent, we specified our desire for a high standard of accomodation and after trawling through a number of resorts and hotels we eventually came across the Morasal Suites. Impressed by the facilities and photos on the web, we settled on this and promptly booked up.
Exellent Hotel with great service
We decided to book this hotel after looking around on the internet for a hotel with good standards and air condition. Looking good on pictures we really looked forward to this stay.
As we got there, we found the hotel more then we had dreamt of. Exellent service, fabulous cleaning and wonderful rooms. We had a 1 bedroom apartment, looking really good. Very spacios and exellent view over the harbour. The apartment had a well equipped kitchenette, and the bedroom had lots of closet space.
Highly recommended, as we are going back this year too! :)
Having been to Gran Canaria a few times we elected to go to Puerto Rico rather than the more clubby resort of Playa Del Ingles. Puerto Rico has an extremely picturesque harbour and a lovely family beach. Parts of the resort (especially the main commercial centre) are quite tacky but there are more classy restaurants and bars at the far end of the beach and at the back of the resort in the more Spanish parts.
