This is an older place and in need of many repairs but the price is right and we always have a good time. Rooms are small, think dorm room, with 2 twin beds, a hot plate, toaster and a coffee pot!

Really like this, and Phil has been coming here for 17 years now. People are friendly and rooms are clean, though small with 2 twin beds, a hot plate, a toaster and a coffee pot. The Bull Shed, attached is good eating too.

The tropical storm "Wali", pronounced Willie, started about 2:00 am this morning. Lots of rain! Continued throughout the night and into the morning. "Wali" did not stop me from getting my run in. Down to a mist by the time I ran. Since it was really cloudy & rainy we decided to do some shopping. We went to Deja Vu surf shop. Lots of neat things in the store. We then drove to Lihue to do some more "window" shopping. The traffic was real ...

... Coast. Jason took us into some of the steep valleys to see waterfalls. We finally saw Hanakapi'ai Beach and River that Larry and Derek saw at the end of the hike yesterday. We flew past Ke'e Beach and the parking lot and ponds we had see yesterday. The we flew on the west side of Hanalei Bay and up a canyon to the Mt. Wai'ale'ale Crater and into the crater where we saw the Weeping Wall. Mt. Wai'ale'ale is one of the wettest places on earth. ...

... seen it all day long. We took our time getting ready to go to breakfast. We decided to go to a place called Eggberts just down the road. It was recommended by someone who wrote in the journal for the condo. We also found a family in the journal from Grove City and Galena, Ohio. Small world!

We got to Eggbert's about 10:00. It was open air covered dining and we shared the space with a couple of pigeons who loved stealing food from the ...

... 50...I think that's enough to give you a little perspective. Oh and gas prices are $4.59/gallon!!! AAaahhh!!! So basically I am eating majority just homemade meals and minimizing my driving. The NICU got me trained good with "grouping my cares", so I try to kill two birds with one stone and don't drive all over the island. So this week let's see: volunteering, zip lining, hiking with a buddy, soaking up some rays, meeting new friends, kayaking and ...

... into the pool with his wallet and phone in his pocket. Well he went with a bag to go get rice and comes back with the phone and rice in a ziplock bag. Momma asked him if it was dry rice and he looked puzzled. Then he felt the rice and he had stuffed his phone in a bag of cooked rice. I busted out laughing and he got so mad at me but he'll laugh about it later. Maybe a few years. It is probably of note that this morning we had to get up really early ...
