... time walking around. I would have loved to have spent longer here as it looked a really interesting town but unfortunately time would not allow. We made it back to the boat just in time as we were the last lot back on board . Tonight was the last night movie we would be watching . As we had had such a long day David said he had selected a short movie for us. it was his silent movie Buster Keaton's The navigator. It tells the story of two people stranded on a cruise ship on their own ...

... don’t think I took the last couple of km in much.

I got to Elafonisi about 4 so only had an hour to enjoy the beach there (stunning) before a bus back to Chania at 5. I thought about staying the night but because of my ankle decided against it. ... my destination, I had no choice but to head back to Heraklion--something like a bad brake must be taken seriously, even for an idiot like me.

On the way back though, the braking force gradually returned. As I mentioned, I'm a complete neophyte, so I don't know what mechanism is involved. Maybe fluid of some kind, maybe effected by overuse (I was using the rear brake often on the scenic route). I'll do some research tonight and see if I can nail it ...

We appreciated the accommodation to change our schedule to better fit the forecast for hiking. However, the tour ended up being quite different than we expected based on what Margarita indicated following her conversation with Asimina Tours to make the arrangements. We understood the meal would be at a monastery, although we thought the activities would remain largely the same.
    In the end, ...
