... is dying out and I believe that is what the people of Barcelona are fearful of. Language is incredibly power, in that ties people together in ways much deeper than as simply a means of communication. Sometimes I think that its value is much more sentimental, why else would we completely reject a language like Esperanto? What ties does Esperanto have to a people, truly? ... we arrived, by now it was 11:30pm. Eventually tracked down our driver (drove like a race driver, hitting 150 on the freeway). ... really quite remarkable when pulled out of context of today with architects pushing and pulling the built environment in such divers and extreme directions. The walk was well worth it and while we did have to constantly refuel with fluids and snacks along the way we all did amazingly well in the unfamiliar heat hovering near 30 degrees by the afternoon. We walked all the way back to our flat with me repeatedly urging ...
