Sasa was our hostess at this beautiful hotel with perfect location in the heart of Ljubljana. She was also the architect of the units - everything was great, the location was even better!

Race start was at 0905hrs so time for a good breaky and make sure I had all my **** together (pump, CO2, tubular sealant/inflator, electrolyte tabs, 1 bar, 8 gels, 2 water bottles, phone, bike, etc...).

From our apartments an easy 10 min ride to BTC City, met up with Nath, another Aussie in my age group. Enough time for a 1/2 hr warm-up …

Rach chose a good day to lock herself out of the room as my 3 hr ride turned into a 5 hour ride this morning. Heading out west to Logatec where the first climb is and then heading north to Idrija, one of the most picturesque places I have ever seen which belies the fact that it was once one of the two largest mercury mines in the world where liquid …

... that we followed their lead - its such a lovely small country and Ljubljana is great fun and lively.
Our last day in Ljubljana today and we catch the train back to Zagreb and then onto Split via an overnight sleeper. We spent the morning doing a bit more looking around town and then decided to do haircuts late morning with a salon recommended by the hotel - worked great - language Not an issue and Christine ...
