    Is our two month trail anniversary! We also broke 900 miles today. As a reward, we went into Reds meadow for a solid lunch with dessert pie. On a last minute decision, we took the shuttle into Mammoth Lakes. Nice hotel at Holiday Haus, nice relaxing evening. Ahhhhhh.     ... and colouful gardens. People plant lots of succulents here, but you also see bouganivillias, hibiscus and other tropical plants. The apartment is is very cute and stocked with a pantry full of food. We had the same experience in England and Spain.     ... stay at the Quality Inn. We are told to remove EVERYTHING from our car with an odor, including lotions, because the bears will tear into the cars with odors. Again we find that we have no air conditioning, a fan and an open window. It takes just a little bit to cool down the room. The air outside is very cool.

    Next door is a John's pizza, the only place in town that is open. So we get dinner there and finally end the day. IT WAS AN AWESOME DAY!
