We had a long drive from Las Vegas to mammoth mountains through Death Valley mountain range. If we had thought it was hot before this was something else. In the valley floor it got to 108 and was still rising, even the snakes there can't handle it they bury under ground.

Thankfully there's a small village in the bottom of the valley with a general store. It's been a long time since we've seen a proper vegetable (after a week, tomato and lettuce stopped counting). In a bid to try and do the 'right' thing, I grabbed a V8 vegetable juice promoting 3 serves ...

... and suggested we explore that. Five minutes from the overlook, the views were more spectacular than the overlook without any people. We continued climbing up the mountain until we reached a backcountry campground. We soon realized that the campground was in fact Inspiration Point, which was disappointing. We turned around stopping about fifty feet above the overlook. The sun was sinking lower into the sky behind us casting gold and pink hues over the Valley, Half ...
