... see very beautiful bluffs on clay which have all these caves on the bottom where the water is eroding at the bluffs. A couple beers and campfires later we set out to arrive at Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This was a very neat place where these huge "buttes" rise out of the ground which is what most of the park is comprised of. Here we camped for four nites and saw a plethera of Buffalo. One of the first things I noticed is how quiet it was. Even though we were surrounded by numerous other cyclists there was not a lot of conversation taking place. Breathing was clearly the priority and conversation would have to wait until later. This was a continuing theme I would notice during the ride.
