      This was a fascinating experience, and probably the highlight for us, as we looked at buildings in so many different architectural styles, from European Renaissance, Historic Revival and Neo-Gothic to Art Deco and Art Nouveau, and at the opposite end, Mies Van Der Rohe's austere and very plain International Style.

      Personally I lean to the frankly ornamental neo-Gothic and European Renaissance styles ...

      ... selection, but the prices were all fair and the waitstaff was attentive to everyone, despite the crowd. The band was Rodney Brown & Hotrod. Now, I've heard all sorts of things about Chicago blues and the whole bar music scene. But these guys really knew how to groove, and each of the 5 members had some serious talent. The singer, Rodney, also plays a mean sax, which he took around the bar with him during some of his solos. I'm attaching a ...
