My last two days in Tenerife

... is a better appreciation for myself and how I'm different and similar from my peers; I've learned that I can't always fit in with others, that I'm not always going to be able to follow along or go with the crowd. Instead, I've decided that the best thing for me to do is to find those who I can connect with at any time they give me and enjoy that time to its maximum potential. Even if it's just a quick coffee in the hospital café, a tram ride back to the residencia, a run ...

Week 5 is here! I can't believe how fast this whole experience has gone by! It feels like just yesterday I was anxiously running around the airport hopelessly trying to make it to my terminal on time, and now here I am running around La Laguna as if it were my home town.

For my final week, I'm in the Gynecology unit with one of the session A fellows, Mary Hunter. Today was our first day, and I have to say that I'm more excited for the specialty now than ...

It's been such a blast, and I look forward to my final week ahead in Gynecology. Hopefully my sun burns don't peel too much and I can come home with a nice tan!

... our trip we have been lucky to have come across many friendly drivers on the roads of Spain, with friendly toots of encouragement or even waves and calls. This day I had many toots and waves, with one cyclist coming down the mountain calling, "Venga!! Vamos, vamos!". Easy for you to say whilst travelling at 40mph without pedalling- though that particular treat was still in store for me. Many hours had now passed, and the legs were weary. No flat ...

The need to leave the cold winds and wet weather in London saw me flying off to one of the smaller islands in the Canary Islands, Isla de La Palma. With an optimistic weather forecast of 24 degrees I was feeling very excited about my trip and I could not wait to touch down on this balmy island.

Our descent into La Palma Aeropuerto was a bit of a 'heart in throat' experience and for the first time I was a little concerned while flying. Having looked out the window I ...
