By this time the sun was setting behind the island in the distance and it was getting really windy up there so I headed down to my cabin. But that was truly a moment of relaxation and enjoyment that I haven’t experienced lately.
I’ll be back, Hawaii! But now.. I’m on my way ...

... realistic and gorgeous didn't hurt either. We decided to head up country today to visit a Lavender farm. We timed it just right once again and arrived right as a tour was beginning. Our tour guide Dustin introduced us to the various types of lavender. Apparently there are 46 varieties on this property. Although they weren't in full bloom they were beautiful and VERY fragrant. ... Lookout Fruit Stand (it was mentioned in our book). I had crepes with fresh coconut, almonds and Nutella. Jeff had a hunk of freshly baked banana/pineapple bread. Both were delicious. Above is a photo of the young woman who was at the stand which, by the way, is in the middle of nowhere.

Because we were driving up into the rainforest we weren't surprise that it started to sprinkle. One of the most famous things about the Road to Hana is the number of ...

... proud that we hadn't fallen off the boards once. This, and perhaps the 'Endless Summer - in Search of the Perfect Wave' poster in the rental shop had emboldened Comeault to ride the nose of his board onto shore. The result was technically a shitshow but full of high comedic value. For about one and three-quarter seconds, Brian actually looked like he belonged on that board and his cocky-swagger was a palpable force that rivalled the tidal throes. But all ...
