    ... the guard asked me where my visa was. I told him I didnt have one, and he pointed me to the visa desk. At the desk were two americans and another couple from either Armenia or Georgia. They told me the cost of the visa which was $7, but the visa guy told me that I had to pay with Armenian dram. I didnt have any dram so I wasnt sure how I could pay for the visa.     Albania is country that was ruled by the communists until the 1990s. Our local guide informed us that Albania is a "construction site", as people are struggling to survive after years of suppression. Unfinished buildings, gravel roads, low incomes (about $450 per month) graffiti, rubbish and junk scattered around and sub standard infrastructure are clearly evident. The environment is clearly not a priority, as garbage is spread along the edge of roads and on many properties. ...

    The sun was shining and it was quite warm this morning so we hit the streets and to check out the markets. Not brilliant mostly cheap knock off stuff, but nice to get out and about.
