... the shop bar and waited for the adjustments to be made, this one much smaller for when we're back in not-so-sunny England and the replacement of the gem stone. After some bartering (again) I arranged a fantastic price with the manager for something truly one of a kind. ... 5 months since we had been at that airport yet I remembered it like it was yesterday.

We jumped in a taxi, made small talk with the cabbie and within 40 minutes we were at our hotel.
The hotel was fine, great value for money with a balcony and in a quiet Soi centrally located close to two different BTS stations and the Sukhumvit MRT station.
Having wifi for the first time I was quick to whatsapp my cousin Jodi and ask her what the plan for tonight ...

Hungover day. It was the day after the night before. After awaking feeling very shabby we forced ourselves into the shower and to get ready as we were determined to catch the sun. The hostel map showed a big park not too far away so we thought we'd venture there and sun bathe. The map lied. It was ages, well it was probably a 20 minute walk but with the horrendously hot weather and the headaches we were already suffering it felt like an entire lifetime. ...

... and we were waved in and out of the road blocks (whereas all Thai people had their bags searched) - money certainly talks here in Thailand. Also on sale were very cheap clothes, leather bags, shoes, iPad cases, iPhone cases, basically any bargain a tourist could want. Street food is a massive deal in Bangkok and the whole market was a cacophony of different smells - some downright delicious, some kind of not! Anything you could eat on a stick - sausages, kebabs, seafood, ...
