... was mermaid day! Off we went bright and early for the 2 1/2 hour trip to Weeki Wacki State Park. Arrived just in time for the animal show, then the pontoon boat ride down the river and FINALLY the mermaids. It was quite amazing as you'll see from the photos. ... in Bradenton! A beautiful dinner cooked by Ruthann, a chat with everyone around, and a late night swim was just what was called for. The next morning we headed to Siesta Keys, the number 1 beach in USA, with Rob, Suzy and Anouk, Lois' very cute cousin! We had to get down there early to avoid the strong midday sunshine, but it was a beautiful beach with extremely soft sand.
