On Saturday Dec 7th, Karen and I drove over to El Centro to meet John and Bertha and then headed to Puerto Penasco, Mexico. We crossed the border at Mexicali and drove about 4 ½ hours to the resort. We stopped in Sonoyta for lunch at a cute Mexican café. Bertha ordered lunch for all of us, a combo plate of different Mexican foods, it was really yummy.
We arrived at the resort around 1700h, ...
... hours fishing... sea bass, trigger fish and a grouper ... I guess over the course of several hours we caught a medium size cooler full of fish. And by the time they were cleaned we had maybe 20 lbs of fillets...
I was kidded by the guys for only wearing a sweat shirt over my tee where they had coats... but the weatherman turned out to be right and the sea was calm, and as the sun rose in the sky it got warm ...
