    ... for surfing. I really liked walking around Lagos as it had so many interesting, historic buildings such as churches, Forte de Ponta Bandeira, Governors Castle. The slave market is currently under renovation. This dates back to the slave trade and is the place Africans were kept until sold. This obviously is no longer in use.     A quiet day at our town today... Wandered to the town/village at the sea front and had a wander and coffee. Big purchase... A new pair of jandals. Havianas and cheaper than in NZ so grabbed a pair.... Don't suppose I will have much call for them for few months. Bill enjoyed a very extensive port shop ... Very big for size of town... Two floors. Beach not so calm today... Wind from Spain apparently.... Said with derision and blame !!!! Like it's their fault!!!! Still blue ...

    Setting off from Estoril following our GPS ( Australian man's voice) we then went over Lisbons suspension bridge heading to the Algarve. As we headed south there were lots barren dry lands....bit like Australia actually. Almost expected the odd Kangaroo to appear. Very little grown it was so dry ... Then we went further and lots olive orchards, orange trees,and some animal farms. A very quick trip along the motorway .... Great roads and easy to get somewhere fast. Listening ...

    ... 8220;gratuit” I begin to smell a rat. I tell Jonny I think this man is an opportunist and that we should ask him where the sign is that says that we must pay. Jonny manages to find a French couple who speak English in a nearby camper and they confirm that this aire is free and that they suspect this man is crazy.
