Off the ship, we walk – the city, Aghios Nikolaos, Greece (St. Nicholas), is clearly a tourist destination from all over Europe and the rest of the world. Quaint with strikingly blue water. Looking into the water can be a mesmerizing experience – the fish, the sea bottom, the clear blue waters are calling me…but alas….not possible to swim here ...

... a sun lounge and both dozed off a little. To wake us up we went for a swim, our first in the Mediterranean. A bit cool to start with but very refreshing and as the weather started to change from the south it was warmer in than out. We hopped out and ventured into town for a snack. ... of town we found it only had a 1/2 tank of fuel. We rang and told them, bit of a casual bunch, not like hiring a car in Oz. Ali drove back to our resort before we swapped for the afternoon excursion. Ali navigated us up into the Lassithi Plateau which took in some good sights of a large dam and gorges. Mel got used to the small, tight and winding roads, changing gears ...
