On our way to Galveston we got caught in traffic so we opted for an adventure in the form of a detour. What a surprising view. The Gulf roughly lapping the shores; beautiful homes on stilts, pastel colors of beach community homes were easy on the eye. I wish more of them were caught in pictures. The next morning we loaded up our backpacks with sandwiches, water and our beach gear for a bike ride to the beach. Jon somehow managed to balance his bike with the beach umbrella hanging off the side and we were off, it was a 2 mile ride which didn't take us long.
