... Great Barrier Reef. It was the umpteenth time we had snorkelled during our five months and each time we say it's the best one yet. But this one really was. With it being the Great Barrier Reef we weren't anywhere near land. We were in the middle of the ocean, miles away from anywhere. It sounds quite scary to go snorkelling, especially with the many sharks around. But obviously it's not too deep because it's full of reef and coral that come up to within a few metres of ...

The first thing we came across that really surprised me was a giant clam. Now, everyone knows what a clam is, right? These things are huge. I've never seen anything like it. It could probably eat me if it felt so inclined. Our instructor waved a hand above and it quickly snapped closed. Very weird. It was at this point I realised how ...

... punctuate it. Tonight we ate in the night market from one of the Chinese all-you-can-fit-on-a-plate places. Turns out Becky can fit quite a lot in a little Tuppaware tub. It rained more on the way back, getting heavier, but still just as windless. In the common room tonight it is molten. The air is thick and heavy with heat. I'm sweating more here than I was in the sun. Our room tonight has air con, but for the next month? Not so ...

... had his photo taken with a rather large fish that one of the fisherman had caught to tell everyone he had caught it! Walked back along the seafront and made the rash decision as we passed the hairdressers to go in and he could cut my hair straight away! Feels so much better to have less hair especially in this heat, would you believe he comes from Stevenage! Alison then took the plunge as well so both feeling a lot lighter!
