... fear and paranoia did get the walls built and like today assisted in draining resources the city-government- could have used else where. Like widening the streets. We're driving a small VW van but the roads and alleys of Hania are tight. Sometimes people have to move patio furniture to proceed. Before I could park a few blocks from our suite I had to lift two scooters and move them to make a parking space. We're meeting some friends coming from India, ...

I again apologize for the length, but the content is worth it. We arrived in Chania, Pronounced "Hann nyahhh". I had arranged for a driver in Crete, as I had not been here before. We had no tour planned for the day. So we just walked around and got lost in the ...

It was great to have them and not have to carry them on our entire trip. They certainly helped with my balance on the boulders and across the rocks in the river. We certainly needed to concentrate nowhere we were walking especially as we crossed the river ...

    ... lots of tourists.

Day 2 we booked our trip to the Samaria Gorge. The Samaria Gorge is a very full day adventure which deserved it's very own post.

Day 3 was a quiet one. After our day down the Samaria Gorge we creaked down to breakfast and then went beach exploring. We headed out to Stavros Beach where Zorba the Greek was filmed directed by and starring Anthony Quinn. It was an interesting movie but the place is even ...
