... go to Lego Land, enroute to SanDiego, specially if you have brats in the back seat, and Gaslamp quarters in the evening.


Gaslamp quarters have a lot of food joints to offer, good shopping, so do go out, if you have time.

... out of Vegas at all.
After several false starts, a stop to buy a map, water and the inevitable rest room, we were off, hopefully in the right direction.

I reckoned we had about 340 miles to go, so we didn't have a lot of time to frig about.
The first 100 miles was through the desert, with the occasional Joshua tree and vast open views, with gorgeous, muted colours.

Soo...day 2 brought some interesting events. We woke up next to Mono Lake which you can see the view from the first picture. Even though Elliott said he'd be up before me, naturally I was up first. ... observatory. The walk down was ******* a steep dirt track, but had amazing views. The bonus was a very acrobatic humming bird. It did a deep dive so fast and close to us we could hear its wings buzzing and then it would climb straight up into a stall like aerobatic pilots do. This happened 2 or 3 times.
