Las Vegas to Mammoth Lakes

... in our shorts – a very surreal feeling, being surrounded by snow and ice, wearing a thin t-shirt and not being in the least bit shivery. When we arrived at our hotel in Mammoth Lakes there was snow on the ground there too, but it didn’t stop us boiling up as we wandered down to a restaurant in our jeans. And it also didn’t stop us going out into the hot tub that evening, under the stars, in the shadow of the snow-capped ...

Into the high sierras we went. Finding snow at peaks and blue lakes below. As we hit 11,000 Ft. Yesterday the air seemed noticeably thinner. The views though were worth every step and every breath.

... We can't see it all, but have been told to go to Glacier Point.

We head toward Glacier Point not knowing what we will see. After traveling for almost an hour within the park we arrive at Glacier Point. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE! We are about 7200 feet high, looking down into the valley below. There are HUGE, HUGE, HUGE cliffs and waterfalls that we are viewing from this view point. I cannot describe how large and close the rounded boulder ...

... to knit your own converses! Our last dinner here is at Gaucho Grill where we eat until absolutely stuffed, there's enough left over for another meal. No hope of us eating dessert! :( Tomorrow I may have to eat dessert for lunch. We're leaving in the afternoon for an epic roundabout flight home via Vancouver which I'm not looking forward to, but hopefully there's time for a root beer float before we ...
