... The funny thing was to get back into the park for next year (on a good site of course) will mean one of them has to 'drop off the perch' hahahaha.. so I told them I might need to put some ratsack into the salad so we could come back. They did laugh, but I'm not sure if we will be invited back next 'Thursday'. But it doesn't finish there, we were then invited by group number 2 ...

Eucalyptus everywhere - where are the gumtrees?

MAROOCHY & SURROUNDS

NOOSA Tues 3/6 - Woke up to a lovely, sunny morning, at last. We had the day in Noosa - 24o and very humid. There was a lot of road works happening with upgrading and paving Hastings Street and the Surf Club. Walked along the beach and then headed up to the National Park Reserve and walked along the headland. It is truly a beautiful area and there were a lot of board riders enjoying the surf along the points. However, I really don't ...

Back and Forth

... into the small hours. I'm not just being miserable, I like a drink and a laugh as much as anyone, but not every night with total disregard for others. Its sad. An absolute waste of an opportunity. I see it as a privilege to be from a country and a family that has allowed me to be in the position to come and do this, and to watch people just **** it up the wall drives me ****ing mental. Anyway, after 3 straight nights with no sleep we decided to ...

... good exercise. I was really impressed with the girls on the trip they held their own and then some. Back at camp we had another good night together and shared some more laughs. Next morning we packed up all the **** and headed back to Boreen point. We saw a large python on the road and got to touch a large kangaroo that was used to people. We said goodbye to everyone and headed to the kangaroo sanctuary in Kilkivan.

The St. Tropez of the Sunshine Coast

We left Hervey Bay early yesterday morning (JD decided to carry on with us which is cool) & drove down to Rainbow Beach & had a few hours there chilling out. Rainbow beach is another place that you can get to Fraser Island from but it's a lot quieter & chilled out than Hervey Bay. It's really only 1 main street leading down from the beach & lookout. It's so called as the cliffs around the beach are multi-coloured & ...

Going Down the Coast

... of highrise condos and caravan parks and everybody goes to bed rather early. There are a lot of fish and chip joints and a lot of a 'take away' joints, and a ton of malls to spend the days in. We aren't really into this scene so much but we wanted to stop here because we are going to go to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo tomorrow and we thought this might be a good place to stay (it's only 20 minutes from here). Dori and I have been running down the coast in two ...

Christmas

Well, sadly we have finally lost our camera. can't believe after 18months of travel its finally happened. Not to worry though, all pics saved - but at home. So for the time being at least, will just update with news. So Christmas was spent back in Maroochydore, with Val, Al and Matt and various other, "homeless" back packers. Absolutely fabulous day had by all. Mission of the day - cook traditional roast dinner for 30 backpackers! All went without a ...

Just Maroochying around

We have been in Aus now for over a week and we are starting to get used to the way of life here. The weather went a bit cooler in the middle of the week but now it is back in the late twenties / early thirties again. We have hired a car and traveled quite a bit around the local area, mainly looking for a van. They are quite scarce around Maroochydore but we think we have found a suitable one near Brisbane. More to follow ...
